A evening spectacular
The Battle of Castillon
If you feel like a night of spectacular entertainment as well as brushing up on your history, then go and see this. It tells the story of Richard Lionheart and the last battle of the 100 year war, which took place in Castillon-la-Bataille (hence the name). Although it's in French, you should be able to follow along enough and in any case you will be wowed !! Horses and knights gallop around at full flight, there are monks and taverns, Kings and Queens and a lots of pyrotechnics ! It has a late start as it needs to be dark, so it often doesn't get underway before 22h30 but if you go early you can have a bite to eat and a drink with a monk.
